Cleverness of the monkey | Short Story for Kids

 

There was a huge pond in a forest.  All the animals of the forest used to drink water in this pond.  There was an old banyan tree by the side of the pond.  An intelligent monkey lived on it.  He was intelligent so everyone called him 'Aklu'.

 One afternoon, a buffalo entered the pond and started bathing.  When she came out of the pond after a long time, her large body was covered with mud.  When Aklu saw him, he started laughing out loud.

  Buffalo became a buffalo.  Worsened  Angrily said, "You are not ashamed, laughing at your elders."

 Aklu and laughed out loud and said, "Oh, so what should be done so that the body remains covered with mud and mud?"  It was better that he would not go for a bath.  You also made the water of the pond dirty and it itself was dirty.  What is the use of such a bath!

 "Ja-ja, bada aaya," the buffalo threatened- "Just come down, now let me bone your rib. Come to explain to me."

 "Come on, do your work. He has gone to show his strength. He has such a big body, but not even a lot of wisdom." Aklu taunted.

 The buffalo and akalu things spread like wildfire.  All the animals started talking about this quarrel.  In the end, everyone decided that one way or the other, this quarrel must cool off.

 In the evening, all the animals came to the banks of the pond.  It was decided by everyone's opinion that the one who will cross this pond from the middle is the same.  Raja Sher and Sahayika fox Rani became the judges of this competition.

 All the animals of the forest were eager to see this fun spectacle.  Half settled on this side of the pond and half on the other side.

 Aklu and buffalo also reached the contest spot on time.  Aklu was very upset.  He did not know how to swim.  But there was a question of respect.

 If he had told his problems to someone else, how would he have been called 'intelligent'?  He did not accept to give up without trying.  Therefore, he did not allow any feeling of discomfort on his face.  Here the buffalo mind was becoming very happy.  He was very proud of his large body and strength.  Crossing the pond was a game of his left hand.  She was swinging in her fun.

 Now all preparations were complete, then the fox cautioned both of them.  On her saying 'one - two - three', both of them had to start swimming in the pond.  Aklu's troubles increased.  The heart began to palpitate .  He was not feeling anything due to nervousness.  He felt that today he would be proved a fool in front of all the animals of the forest.

 As soon as the fox said 'one - two - three', the standing buffalo got ready for the competition.  Aklu too braved a bit and put wisdom on him.  Suddenly, he got an idea.  Aklu jumped with joy.  He put two or four gorges on the dali with this dali and reached the tilt which leaned towards the pond.

 The buffalo was still on the shore.  Just Aklu jumped from there.  Holding the buffalo's horns from Dhamma and rode on his back.  The buffalo ran his tail once or twice to knock him down, but Aklu caught him as well.  The animals of the forest were surprised to see Aklu's cleverness.  But defeat was still decided.

 They become curious to see who wins.  The buffalo was so far away from the other shore of the pond that Aklu jumped loudly and came to the shore and started dancing happily.  All the animals shouted happily at Aklu's wisdom and victory.

 Here the buffalo poor came out of the water gradually.  The lion pronounced his decision- "The wise man Aklu won this competition. From that day onwards people also got the answer to the saying 'Akal badi or buffalo".
